Hamstrings are the large group of muscles in the back of the thigh. Tightness in these muscles can limit the forward bending poses in yoga. But why are they so tight? Tightness in one area of the body can mean there is weakness present somewhere else. This resistance can also be felt emotionally or spiritually.
