Teaching Experience
Stephanie Carter Kelley is qualified to provide Yoga Alliance Continuing Education with expertise in:
- Teaching Methodology
- Anatomy and Physiology
Dr. Kelley obtained her degree in Physical Therapy in 1990 and went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy with emphasis in Orthopaedics. She has practiced as a Board Certified Orthopaedic Physical Therapist since 2005 (recertified in 2015). She obtained a PhD in Education in 1999 with emphasis in College Teaching, Statistics, and Biomechanics and worked in Physical Therapy academics for 20 years developing curriculum and teaching in Masters, Doctoral and Residency programs for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics. In 2010 she was certified to teach Hatha Yoga and began integrating yoga into her Physical Therapy practice. In 2016 she left the academic setting to focus on her business as Yoga Physical Therapist to provide “spine safe” yoga classes and private and small group therapeutic yoga. She sees her role primarily an educator, using Mindfulness and Understanding to build Compassion and create Health.
